The North Flatbush BID is excited about the announcement of our friend, and neighbor BID director, M. Blaise Backer being named as Deputy Commissioner at NYC Small Business Services.
Blaise has spent over a decade supporting the Fort Green, Clinton Hill neighborhoods with the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership. He has been instrumental in dramatically lowering the vacancy rate along Myrtle Avenue, curating mom-and-pop businesses and now Blaise will head up the Neighborhoods division at SBS and will bring his expertise and enthusiasm to the benefit of New York City as a whole.
