Brooklynites Invited to Try Out for a Chance to Perform
During Brooklyn Nets Playoff Games at Barclays Center
– Monday, April 14 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Barclays Center –
BROOKLYN (April 2, 2014) – The Brooklyn Nets are inviting Brooklyn singers and musicians to audition for the opportunity to perform at a Playoff game at Barclays Center. Auditions will be held on Monday, April 14 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. at The Barclays Practice Court at Barclays Center.
“Our Playoffs are For Brooklyn and we want to give Brooklynites the chance to share the spotlight at Barclays Center,” said Petra Pope, Senior Vice President for Entertainment and Event Marketing for the Brooklyn Nets. “There’s tremendous musical talent in this borough and we encourage our residents to audition and represent on Brooklyn’s biggest stage.”
Residents must bring a valid form of identification, as well as a utility bill to prove local residency. For performers under the age of 18, one parent or guardian must be present at registration to sign a participation waiver.
A keyboard will be provided. Singers are asked to bring their track on CD or MP3. All singers and musicians should be prepared to perform The Star-Spangled Banner.

About Brooklyn Nets: The Brooklyn Nets, presented by SW24 Security, were officially launched in April 2012 and play their home games at Barclays Center located at the crossroads of Brooklyn, Atlantic and Flatbush Avenues. A member of the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic Division, the Nets advanced to the NBA Playoffs in 2013 for the first time since 2007. Prior to its relocation to Brooklyn, the team was called the New Jersey Nets. Starting in 1977, the Nets played their first four seasons in New Jersey at the Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway, before moving in 1981 to Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford (later renamed Continental Airlines Arena and IZOD Center). They remained in East Rutherford for 29 seasons until relocating to the Prudential Center in Newark in 2010.
